Logic Rectification of Digital Circuit

As the complexity of the modern VLSI design increases, logic rectification plays very important role for improving the speed and efficiency of design error correction. It is needed for both enabling efficient design revision and fixing implementation errors. This report introduces the general concept of logic rectification and compares the advantages and disadvantages of several different approaches, with an emphasis on explaining the method proposed in [7]. This method is based on diagnostic preanalysis of the circuit and the rectification is performed on a selected subcircuit. It can be used for more general cases because the method neither uses any error model nor requires structural similarity between the specification and implementation. An example circuit is given for explanation.
